My uncle, Mas'oud Atayan, who is a member of the Bahai community of Ghaemshar was arrested on 17 November 2008.

On the evening of Monday, 17 November 2008, the Government intelligence agents entered Mas'oud Atayan's house in Ghaemshahr, and spent few hours searching the home before taking him away. 

Mr. Movahed, who is the chief of the Intelligence Ministry of the province of Mazandaran, with 4 of his assistants, raided my uncle's house and confiscated the books, and notes, as well as the computer and all documents related to Mr. Atayan's business. 

After about 20 days, since the arrest, my uncle was able to talk to his family only for a few minutes.

His family contacted the court, the office of information bureau, congressmen from Ghaemshahr, and the office of the governor for help, which had no results so far. They also referred to Haj Agha Moallemi, the top religious authority, who treated them disrespectfully. He called their story a lie and asked them to leave his office immediately.
